Avocados and strawberries are my favorite foods, but I face the same ridiculous conundrum every time I buy them. When should I eat them?? I always seem to want to "save" them for some special moment when I can savor their awesomeness, but then end up waiting too long and having to chuck them in the trash. How it wrenches my gut to open an avocado after days of "saving" it only to be greeted with graying, foul-scented mush. Today I stopped myself in the middle of my "well, tomorrow you could add it to your sandwich" train of thought and immediately concluded that it would taste infinitely better in this moment alongside my hard-boiled egg and warm lemon water serenity breakfast. I knew I was right when upon slicing the middle, lo and behold, the biggest most beautiful avocado green eyes I'd ever seen.
